Beaumont HFSI Pre Primary -Field Trip to the Union Bank of India

Objective: To introduce young students to the concept of banks and their role in the community.

On 21st Jan 2025, thestudents of Beaumont HFSI Pre Primary embarked on a field trip to the Union Bank of India- Powai. The purpose of this visit was to provide students with a firsthand experience of a banking environment, introduce them to basic financial concepts and thus help them to understand the vital role of banks in the community.

The field trip commenced with a warm welcome from the Branch Manager. The Manager provided a brief overview of the bank's role in the community and answered simple questions from the enthusiastic students.

Bank Tour:The children were guided through various sections of the bank namely.
Cashier's Counter: The children met the cashier and learned about their role in handling deposits and withdrawals.
Note Counting Machine: The students were fascinated by the demonstration of the note counting machine, observing how it efficiently counts money.
Locker Room: The Manager explained the purpose of lockers and how they are used to securely store valuables.
Customer Service Area: The children were shown where customers can seek assistance with their banking needs.

During the tour, students actively participated in discussions, asking curious questions about how banks work.The concept of a "passbook" was introduced, and its role in recording transactions was explained using simple language.

The children were highly engaged throughout the field trip, displaying keen interest in the bank's operations. The Branch Manager and bank staff were extremely welcoming and patient, making the experience enjoyable for the children.The demonstration of the note counting machine was a particular highlight for the students, capturing their attention and sparking curiosity.

The field trip to the Union Bank proved to be a valuable learning experience for the young learners of Beaumont. It successfully introduced them to the world of banking in a fun and interactive manner. The children gained a basic understanding of bank functions, the importance of saving money, and the role of banks in the community.

Overall, the field trip to the Union Bank of India was a resounding success, providing the Beaumont students with a valuable and memorable learning experience.
