HFSI League 2024-25

On November 16th and 17th, 2024, Hiranandani Foundation School International organized the annual HFS International Sports League (HFSI) for students of international curricula schools, providing an excellent platform for them to demonstrate their athletic prowess and exemplify the spirit of sportsmanship. With the ever-growing popularity of professional sports leagues in the country, fans’ sports involvement and growing online engagement, the establishment and proliferation of sports leagues in the school community is a relatively new phenomenon albeit soaring in popularity. HFSI has been one of the front-runners in the space by launching a sports league that brings stellar sportsmen together on the field to revel in healthy competition and celebrate the spirit of sports. This year's event featured highly competitive matches in football and basketball, specifically tailored for IG and IB students. Taking place in the spacious playground of the school, the league brought together students from various prestigious institutions, all eager to showcase their skills and teamwork.

The inaugural day began at 8:00 AM, where the Chief Guest, our esteemed Principal Mrs. Kalyani Patnaik, addressed all participants, emphasizing the importance of dedication and resilience in sports. Her encouragement served to motivate the young athletes, each representing their respective schools in a display of camaraderie and competitive spirit. Participating teams included Hiranandani Foundation School International, B.D. Somani, Hill Spring International School, Oberoi International School (OGC), Oberoi International School (JVLR), and Ascend International School.

The first day was highlighted by the Boys' Football tournament and the Girls' Basketball competition. In the Boys' Football event, B.D. Somani emerged victorious, securing the title of winners, while Aditya Birla World Academy claimed the runner-up position. Ahan Jhethani from B.D. Somani was acknowledged as the top scorer, while Tvam Jain from Aditya Birla World Academy earned recognition as the best goalkeeper. Additionally, Praneet Sheth from B.D. Somani showcased exceptional skill and was awarded the title of best player.

In the Girls' Basketball tournament, the competition was equally fierce, with Ascend International School winning the championship and Oberoi International School (OGC) finishing as the runners-up. Dhriti Basu of Oberoi OGC excelled defensively, earning the title of best defensive player. Aanya Vora from Ascend International School was honored as the best player of the match, while Chhavi Gahlaut, also from Ascend International, took home the award for best shooter.

As the events transitioned to Day 2, the fixtures included the Girls' Football and the Boys' Basketball tournaments. In the Girls' Football event, B.D. Somani demonstrated their dominance once again, winning the tournament, while Hill Spring International School secured the runner-up position. Anaya Shah from B.D. Somani showcased her extraordinary talent as the tournament's top scorer. Anaya Sisodia from Hill Spring International School was recognized as the best goalkeeper, while Imaan Virji, also from B.D. Somani, was named the best player.

The Boys' Basketball tournament concluded the league on a high note, with Oberoi International School (JVLR) clinching victory and Ascend International School taking the runner-up title. Shikhar Reuben from Oberoi International JVLR was celebrated as the best player of the match, while Yajat Daga from Ascend International was acknowledged as the best shooter. Additionally, Aadit Reuben of Oberoi International JVLR was recognized for his outstanding defensive skills.

The event culminated on November 17, 2024, with a prize distribution ceremony, marking the successful conclusion of the HFS International Sports League. This year's league not only highlighted the impressive athletic ability of the participants but also fostered a sense of sportsmanship, resilience, and respect among the competitors. The lessons learned throughout the event reinforced the understanding that sports is not solely about winning, but rather about learning to accept defeat gracefully and celebrating camaraderie.
