Report on Hiranandani Foundation School International Annual Athletic Meet 2024- 2025

The Annual Athletic Meet for the academic year 2024-2025 was held on 12th December 2024 at Hiranandani Foundation School International with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance, involving students, parents, and distinguished guests.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by our Principal, Ms. Kalyani Patnaik. She extended heartfelt greetings to the students, parents, and esteemed chief guests—Mr. Sanjay Bangar, former Indian cricketer, and Mr. Puneet Mehra, CEO of Sportsters Academy. The ceremonial flag hoisting marked the beginning of the meet, accompanied by the soulful rendition of the school song. This was followed by the parade inspection, led by the Principal and the chief guests, who acknowledged the efforts and discipline of the participants.

The march past, performed by contingents representing different houses, showcased precision and coordination. The torch ceremony added a sense of tradition, with Abhimanyu Gupta (IB 2), Ankkur Anand (IB 2), Ahana Chidambaram (Grade 9), and Khushi Bakde (Grade 5) carrying the torch symbolizing the spirit of sports. School captains, led by Hriday Jain (IB 2), administered the oath of integrity and sportsmanship. The flag ceremony was a solemn moment, after which Mr. Sanjay Bangar addressed the audience, sharing inspiring words about perseverance and the importance of sports in holistic education. The meet was officially declared open by Principal Ms. Patnaik, followed by a delightful mascot parade featuring penguins, which brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

A vibrant series of drills were presented, starting with the "Elements of Life" themed drill by Grade 3 and 4 students. This was followed by an impressive gymnastics display, where students formed a human pyramid to instrumental music, done by Grade 3 and 4 students. The Taekwondo display, once again done by Grade 3 and 4 students, further highlighted the strength and agility of the young participants. The mascot parade reappeared to infuse energy into the crowd before the races began.

The athletic events included a wide range of races for different age groups. Juniors participated in the 100m sprint for both boys and girls. Seniors and Super Seniors showcased their skills in the 100m sprint and the 4x100m relay. Participant students of the Kotak Mahindra foundation competed in a 50m sprint, adding a meaningful touch to the event. Special races such as the Grade 3 Synergy Race (boys), Grade 4 Elemental Dash (girls), and Grade 5 Pentathlon (boys) added variety and excitement. The parents’ race was another highlight, encouraging participation beyond students. The thrilling competitions concluded with prizes, distributed by the chief guests and Principal ma’am, to the winners in each category.

The event concluded with the contingents assembling for the closing ceremony. Individual trophies were awarded for excellence in the Aquatic Meet and Athletic Meet across sub- junior, junior, senior, and super senior categories. Special awards were presented for the "Elements of Life" drill, which was recognized as the Best Drill, Beta House for the Best March Past, and Delta House for the Best House. The Sports Captain Hriday Jain delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the event's success. The National Anthem was sung with pride before Principal Ms. Kalyani Patnaik officially declared the meet closed.

The 2024-2025 Annual Athletic Meet was a celebration of athleticism, discipline, and camaraderie. It ended with smiles and cheers, leaving everyone inspired to aim higher, both on and off the field.
