De Montford University Visit to HFSI

The DP cohorts of ’24 and ’25 at HFSI attended a career session facilitated by Ms. Puja Subramanian, International Recruitment Officer at De Montford University, UK on July 21, 2023 in order to avail information on the university, the courses offered, the entry requirements, the application process and what the typical De Montford-ian life looks like for a student staying on campus. The session also covered a general overview of the United Kingdom as a preferred educational destination for Indian students, the process of transitioning for Indian nationals for undergraduate studies and the career opportunities available afterward. As a former student herself, Ms. Puja Subramanian was well- equipped to field student doubts about individual courses, life on campus, the co-curricular opportunities, the faculty in key departments as well as the logistical challenges in terms of commuting to and fro London or accommodation. She expounded on how these basic challenges were overcome if students opted to apply to study at DMU given select facilities and provisions for students. Ms. Subramanian also spoke of the USP of the university and how it offered multiple opportunities for experiential learning, industry connections and networking, internship opportunities as well as placements. The session ended with an exhaustive round of QnA after which Ms. Puja Subramanian offered her contact information to students so they could reach out to her in case they needed any further knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about pursuing higher education in the UK based on their individual subject interests.
