The Annual Day Musical Concert at HFS International, Powai, was a spectacular evening filled with music, drama, and dance as students of Grades 6, 7, and 8 came together to present a vibrant adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Held on March 11, 2025, at the school ground, the event was attended by esteemed guests, our respected Principal Mrs. Kalyani Patnaik ma’am, and enthusiastic parents, who witnessed the remarkable talent and dedication of our students.

The seamless execution of this grand event was made possible under the guidance and effort of the school coordinators, Mr. Ritesh Singh and Ms. Sejal Parikh, along with the vision and guidance of our Principal, Mrs. Kalyani Patnaik, whose leadership ensured that every element of the production came together beautifully. The students displayed immense commitment, balancing their academic responsibilities while preparing for this elaborate performance, making the evening a true celebration of creativity and teamwork.

The highlight of the event was the theatrical adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which was brought to life by an incredibly talented cast. From Caractacus Potts, played by Reyaansh Arora (7C), to Truly Scrumptious-Potts, played by Myrah Khar (8A), each character was portrayed with confidence and charm. Jeremy and Jemima Potts, played by Kinshuk Narula (7B) and Avantika Arun (7C), won hearts with their engaging performances, while Reyaansh Shah (7A) as Grandpa Potts and Farhan Noorani (7A) as Mr. Scrumptious added depth to the narrative. The iconic character of Chitty, the magical car, was brought to life by Aaliyah Sawant (7C), making it a standout element of the production. The antagonist, Baron Bomburst, played by Yugandhar Jadhav (8A), along with Kaveesh Chandiramani (7B) as the eerie Child Catcher, kept the audience enthralled. The performance was further enriched by narrators who skillfully guided the audience through the magical journey, ensuring that every moment was engaging and immersive.

The event also featured a series of energetic and mesmerizing dance performances that complemented the storyline and kept the audience captivated. The students showcased their talent in a variety of dance numbers, ranging from classic musical pieces to high-energy contemporary performances. The choreography and practice sessions were made possible through the relentless efforts of the teachers and Mr. Akash Gurav, whose guidance helped students perfect their moves. Grade 9 students also played a vital role in assisting with choreography, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to each performance. Every routine was filled with energy, precision, and passion, making the event truly special.

Adding to the musical brilliance of the evening, the choir performances were a delight to the ears, as students, under the guidance of Mr. Umang Narayan (Milind Music Academy), delivered soulful renditions that enhanced the emotional depth of the production. The harmonious melodies beautifully complemented the dramatic sequences, leaving the audience spellbound.

While the performers dazzled on stage, an immense amount of effort went into the preparations behind the scenes. The technical setup and logistics were handled meticulously by Mr. Ritesh Singh, ensuring that sound, lighting, and background scores were perfectly delivered. The props and stage design played a crucial role in bringing the magical world of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to life, with students of Grades 6, 7, 8, and 9, as well as teachers, working alongside Gajanan Sir to craft detailed and visually striking set pieces. The costumes and makeup were thoughtfully planned, with Concert_ Year 1 students assisting in makeup, ensuring that every performer looked their part.

This grand event would not have been possible without the vision and unwavering support of our Principal, Mrs. Kalyani Patnaik, whose leadership provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talents on such a grand platform. The Annual Day Musical Concert was a perfect blend of talent, dedication, and teamwork, demonstrating the immense potential of our students. The students and teachers of Grades 6, 7, and 8 worked tirelessly, managing their academic workload while preparing for this grand production, and their hard work paid off in a truly unforgettable evening. The event left the audience mesmerized, proving once again that when passion and commitment come together, magic happens on stage.
