Asmat Kaur Taunque, student of Grade X-A HFSI, was selected for the State Team of Maharashtra. She played in the 69th Open National Senior Basketball Tournament in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. At 15 yrs, Asmat is one of the youngest players among 25 state teams to play in a tournament with players in the age group of 22-30 yrs. Her stellar defence and mature offence got her a special mention in the local news reports. Asmat has also been selected for and invited to the prestigious NBA Academy's Elite National Coaching Camp to be held in NOIDA in January.
